The Mainframe IT Operations Control will console Operations, Monitoring, & Conduct Routine System Maintenance

SHIFT: Weekdays - Monday/Tuesday 8AM-4:30PM, Weekends -- Saturday/Sunday 8AM-8PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event Management. Manages changes in state of IT Infrastructure leveraging alert systems and tools. Triage based on Run Book. Escalates to operations support. Oversees the execution and monitoring of all operational activities and events in the IT infrastructure. Manages routine maintenance, scheduled tasks, and cyclical business operations including backups, recycles, and restarts. Supports business back-office operations. Maintains operations logs/reports, shift schedule logs/reports, and scheduled reports.

  • Availability Management. Monitors technology performance 24/7/365 with accountability to business users, clients, and service managers for service availability. Understands business requirements and cycles escalating utilization, throughput, and maintenance window concerns. Measures and reports on availability. Analyzes information and identifies trends. Provides feedback to implementation engineering and service management on alert thresholds.

  • Continuity Management. Supports disaster recovery testing efforts. Executes standard recovery procedures in the case of true disaster declaration.

  • Capacity Management. Monitors technology performance during business use cycles with accountability for meeting capacity demands. Triages performance and capacity issues based on Run Book prescribed instruction. Escalates to Technical & Applications Management and/or Implementation Engineering as required. Provides feedback on capacity concerns and observed trends. Performs health checks.

  • Change Coordination: Reviews changes for impact to maintenance windows. Performs post implementation reviews on all change orders as directed by implementation engineering.
    * Maintains the escalation database. Performs periodic tests of emergency broadcast
  • \r\n
  • Request Fulfillment. Provide a channel for users to request and receive standard services. Fulfill standard requests relating to operations. Reset, recycle, start/stop services, and execute procedures, jobs, and tasks as directed by the requestor.
    * Handle inquiries and issues from business units relating to IT Infrastructure Operations, service availability, and performance. Triage those requiring escalation handling transfer

  • Compliance. Executes procedures, maintains records, and captures activities in accordance with policy and audit guidelines. Accountable for compliance. Tracks remediation of non-conformance. Works with internal audit on remediation plans.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

\r\n
    \r\n
  • BS/BA -- Business or technical degree, with an emphasis on business or equivalent IT experience is required
  • \r\n
  • Experience in monitoring, managing, and resolving requests, events, incidents, problems, and outages in an enterprise infrastructure
  • \r\n
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with general IT topics client/server, OS, Database, networking, security, and automation.
  • \r\n
  • Demonstrated understanding of network communication, current server technology and hardware
  • \r\n
  • Must have strong verbal & written communication skills
  • \r\n
  • Must have excellent Customer Service skills
  • \r\n
  • 5+ years of experience within IT service & support
  • \r\n
  • Must have held, or currently in, an IT Support position
  • \r\n
  • Must have experience with Operating System Administration: MVS, z/OS, Control-M scheduler, UNIX, Linux, Windows
  • \r\n
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience troubleshooting applications and process running on Windows and Linux servers at all layers of the stack
  • \r\n
  • Preferred knowledge on ITIL process
  • \r\n
